On Friday, August 18 at 3:00 p.m. you will be able to log into the PowerSchool Student and Parent Portal to see what homeroom your child has been placed in for the upcoming school year. Your login and password were sent home with your child on Monday, June 19, 2017.
Logging into the Portal will be the only way you will be able to see who your child's teacher is for the 2017-2018 school year.  All veteran or returning parents can access the portal by visiting the Parent Portal at   I’ve included a screenshot at the bottom of this email, that will provide some visual of what you are looking at to find your child’s homeroom teacher.

Library Volunteers Needed!

posted Mar 27, 2017, 7:19 AM by Susan Dufraine

Here's the great circulation in the WS Library/Media Center has gone from 4,346 check-outs in 2012-13 to 12,918 check-outs so far this year (Aug. 2016 - present). That's almost 3 times the number of books being shared by students and families - and the year is only 2/3 done! Phenomenal!!

The bad news...we are lacking the volunteers to get all those wonderful books back on the shelves so that our students can find what they want and need to read. So...please, please, please...consider stopping by the library/media center for a few minutes, an hour, or more to lend a hand. Our students will surely appreciate the help!

Newletter - SELC, TIES, Family STEAM night

posted Mar 4, 2017, 1:49 PM by Susan Dufraine

Good Afternoon Wolf Swamp Families,

As educators, we recognize and appreciate the importance of teaching the whole child.  We appreciate that we welcome students from different backgrounds and cultures, who bring unique interests and experiences to our classrooms each and every day.  We provide many supports, activities, and lessons within our school to create and maintain a safe, caring and respectful environment.

At Wolf Swamp Road School, a group of educators meet weekly outside of school hours to address the social and emotional learning needs of our learning community.  This group of educators compromise the Social Emotional Learning Committee (SELC) of Wolf Swamp Road School.  It is our goal to share all of the ways we are working to support your child, and we felt the best way to do this would be through a newsletter.   Attached, please find Volume One of the SELC Newsletter.  Social Emotional Learning Committee Newsletter- Volume 1

I would also like to ask you to SAVE THE DATE for two exciting upcoming events.  On March 30, 2017, the district will have our Technology in Education Showcase (TIES), from 6-8PM at Longmeadow High School.   The Technology in Education Showcase will offer K - 12 students an opportunity to showcase technology based projects created as part of their instructional curriculum in their schools.  These projects provide students with the opportunity to think creatively, investigate a subject in depth, expand technology skills and hone presentation techniques.  You may learn more about TIES by clicking this link: Technology in Education Showcase.

Lastly, Wolf Swamp Road School is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Family STEAM Evening on May 17, 2017.  Mark your calendars for what is sure to be an exciting evening for all.

Should you have any specific questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.  As always thank you for your continued support as we collectively strive to make Wolf Swamp the best learning community for your children.
